Nellie Stagles was a driving force in Doncaster dance. Nellie first opened her dance school at just 17 and then spent decades teaching ballet, tap, jazz and more. She trained generations of dancers, some went on to the West End and TV. She even helped a few nervous gentlemen master ballroom steps and impress their future wives. Her legacy lives on through the annual Winter Wonderland show and the still-thriving school which remains one of the largest and most respected dance schools in South Yorkshire.
