This elegant Mansion House has dominated the High Street for over 250 years. Did you know there are only three Mansion Houses remaining in the country, and one of them is in Doncaster! Designed by architect James Paine and first opened way back in 1789, to provide a permanent base for “entertaining”. Since then many high profile guests have been entertained here, including Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1851, and more recently in 2022, King Charles (III) and Queen Camilla.
