Doncaster Youth Jazz Association (DYJA)

Doncaster Youth Jazz Association, known as DYJA, was formed in 1973 by John Ellis MBE. Today, it’s an internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning organisation! DYJA has a simple goal: help young people become their best selves through music they actually enjoy. And it works. Over the years, its musicians have gone on to perform alongside the likes of Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Noel Gallagher and Jools Holland—just a few names to casually mention. For generations in Doncaster, DYJA has been about more than music. It’s built friendships, confidence and lifelong memories. And for everyone else, it’s delivered some seriously great sound along the way.
